Board of Education Agendas Available Online, No Longer in Print

District goes strictly online following an amendment to a bill forcing agendas to be posted online prior to meetings.

Superintendent Edward Ehmann announced Tuesday at the Board of Education meeting that meeting agendas will no longer be printed and distributed, but will be available online instead.

The is making the move from print to the Internet because of an amendment to the public officers law that requires the agendas to be available online prior to the meeting.

According to nystate.gov, this law "Requires records, including a proposed resolution, law, rule, regulation, policy or amendment thereto, scheduled to be presented and discussed by a public body at an open meeting be made available for review to the public; requires such records be made available on the agency's website if it is regularly updated and they utilize a high speed internet connection."

The law goes into effect Feb. 2.

Agendas for the meetings will be posted no later than the day before the board meeting, copies of the agenda won't be provided at the meetings, and copies will be available the day of the meetings for review in the District Clerk’s office.
