Fire Destroys Car, Damages Nesconset Home
Smithtown's Fire Marshal said the car is "a total loss."
A fire destroyed a car and damaged a Nesconset home and garage Monday afternoon.
According to Smithtown's Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Andrew Brofman, the Nesconset Fire Department answered a fire of a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS at 3:36 p.m. for a car fire at a home located at 43 St. James Parkway. Firefighters extinguished the fire, which caused damage to the side of the home, front of the garage and a fence.
A car in the garage was not damaged. Brofman said the car is "a total loss."

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No firefighters or residents of the home were injured.
