German Shepherd At Smithtown Animal Shelter Needs A New Home
The shelter describes him as "handsome" and "highly intelligent."
Smithtown Animal Shelter is looking for a new home for Caesar, a German Shepherd who had been with his previous owner for two years.
The shelter notes that he's not without his needs: he chews, he has some hip problems, and he doesn't get along well with other animals. These kinds of dogs can be particularly hard for shelters to rehome, as many families prefer to start out with a puppy.

But older dogs have a lot of love to give, too, and the shelter suggests his chewing behavior might go down if he's in a properly stimulating environment.
Anyone thinking they might have the ability to give a welcoming home to a highly deserving dog should consider calling the shelter at 631-360-7575 or swinging by in person to meet him face-to-face.
