- Looking for an outing this weekend? The Smithtown Recreation Department is hosting the Ghosts & Goblins today! Stop by Browns Road Park in Nesconset between 10 a.m. to noon to enjoy a Spooktacular morning. Donations of nonperishable foods will be collected to help the Smithtown Pantry. (Smithtown Matters)
- Meet the Smithtown Pet of the Week, Hollie, the cat! Our little friend is nothing more than a warrior. Hollie fought a severe ear infection that resulted in ear loss. She is a female domestic that was rescued as a stray. She is friendly, loves to be held and plays with whoever she meets! Consider adding her to your family today! - Smithtown residents had a blast at the "Spooktacular Halloweekend" at Hoyt Farm last weekend. The event gathers the community to enjoy Halloween fun, food, music and games yearly. The event is hosted for Smithtown residents only, and the town reported that 1,500 residents participated this year. (Town of Smithtown)
- Suffolk police are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who gives information that leads to the arrest of the driver who hit and killed Tyler Phillips. The hit-and-run happened on Granny Road in Coram on Oct. 12. According to his sister, who survived the incident, Phillips pushed her out of the way to save her from being hit. (Port Jefferson Patch)
