- Police are seeking a man accused of a hate crime in Nesconset. Security cameras caught the suspect leaving the scene after damaging the Virgin Mary statue outside a Tiffany Way residence last month. The incident happened on Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. Anyone with information leading to an arrest is asked to call 1-800-220-TIPS. (Smithtown Matters)
- The Smithtown St. Andrew's Lutheran Church is hosting its German Fall Festival on Sept. 17.
