Man Dies After Falling Off Motorized Scooter On Long Island: Cops

He lost control of it, fell off, and struck his head on the pavement, before vein rushed to St. Catherine of Siena, cops say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — A man died Monday night after he lost control of the motorized scooter he was riding on, fell off, and hit his head in Smithtown, Suffolk police.

At around 8 p.m., Ryan Clancy was operating a KAABO Wolf Warrior X northbound on Route 25A, south of Willow Ridge Drive, when he lost control of it, and the vehicle struck the right curb, causing him to fall off and hit his head on the pavement, according to police.

Clancy, 29, of Kings Park, was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The scooter was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
