Here are the top five stories in Smithtown today:
- Police sought a man who allegedly stole merchandise from a Home Depot in Commack. The suspect (pictured in the link) committed the theft at the store located on Jericho Turnpike. Police said that over $1,500 in merchandise was taken. Anyone with information that can lead to an arrest is asked to contact Suffolk Police anonymously. (News 12 Brooklyn)
- Patty Stoddard was elected Chairperson of the Smithtown Democratic Committee. The election was held on Oct. 6 when Stoddard, a retiree from the Smithtown School District, ran unopposed. Read the full story here. (Smithtown Matters)
