1. Police sought a man who allegedly stole merchandise from a Home Depot in Commack. The suspect (pictured in the link) committed the theft at the store located on Jericho Turnpike. Police said that over $1,500 in merchandise was taken. Anyone with information that can lead to an arrest is asked to contact Suffolk Police anonymously. (News 12 Brooklyn)
2. Patty Stoddard was elected Chairperson of the Smithtown Democratic Committee. The election was held on Oct. 6 when Stoddard, a retiree from the Smithtown School District, ran unopposed. Read the full story here. (Smithtown Matters)
