Report: Former Met Eyes Coaching in Italy, Nonprofit Work for Retirement
With his career as a player in Major League Baseball over, Smithtown native Frank Catalanotto has vascular birthmark research benefits, public speaking engagements and more planned for his future.

In a report from BleacherReport.com, former New York Mets player and Smithtown native Frank Catalanotto has been keeping busy since retirement, from speaking to local little league organizations to watching his four daughters play sports, preparing to coach a baseball team in Italy and more.
According to the report, in addition to his public speaking and family obligations, Catalanotto, who retired with a .291 career batting average, is preparing to help former Mets great Mike Piazza coach the Italian national team, has started the Frank Catalanotto Foundation to benefit the research of the Vascular Birthmark Foundation.
Additionally, Catalanotto also runs summer baseball camps for Prospect Sports on Long Island and will host a golf outing at Cold Spring Country Club on October 3, a benefit event for vascular birthmark research.
