Smithtown-Hauppauge Swim Team Wins State Competition

The girls took first in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. One girl set a new pool record for the butterfly.

SMITHTOWN, NY — For the second time in three seasons, the Smithtown-Hauppauge swim and dive team can call itself state champs, the Smithtown School District announced.

The girls brought home the gold on Saturday, taking first in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay with swimmers Sara and Julia Lucca, Mary Schroeder and Olivia Chiofolo.

Individually, Smithtown High School West’s Sara Lucca placed first in the 50 freestyle and 100
butterfly, setting the new pool record in the butterfly.
