Smithtown's Tackan Elementary School Principal Takes Pies To The Face

Students raised more than $22,000 for the PTA Arts in Education program. Check out photos from the event.

NESCONSET, NY — The principal of Tackan Elementary School took pies to the face after students reached their Boosterthon fundraising goal, the Smithtown Central School District announced.

Students stepped up, grabbed a pie and "pie faced" Principal Matthew Furey on Nov. 21. Students raised more than $22,000 for the PTA Arts in Education program.

"No principals were injured during this event," the district wrote.
