  1. The Smithtown High School was where over 20 departments and emergency vehicles gathered to celebrate the St. James Fire Department's 100th Anniversary. The big day was cheered on Aug. 27 with a parade at 5 p.m. Members of our community waited to see first responders passing by at lined Woodlawn and Lake avenues. (TBR News Media)

  • A man is facing criminal charges for the illegal hunt of osprey in the area. A neighbor in the Port Jefferson area called the ECO Small to report that a bird fell off a tree after gunshots. Officials investigated the area and found the suspect who admitted it. No names were released. (Smithtown Matters)
  • Smithtown Patch: "The free End of Summer Concert was held at Kings Park Bluff on Saturday. The bluff was transformed into an outdoor concert venue, as Nathan Dean and The Damn Band finished up their nationwide tour, along Bootleggers Trail with Bootsie Magou Straight Bourbon Whiskey." (Patch)
