  1. The Smithtown Library Budgets Vote and Trustee Election closed its polls at 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The Library's 2023 Budget passed by 3,012 yes and 1,132 no. The library also welcomes the elected Trustees: Annette Galarza, Mildred Bernstein, and Howard Knispel. For more information about the budget and selected candidates, visit here.   2. There will be fun outdoor activities for the family at the Fuego Fall Festival in St. James starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The event benefits the John Theissen Children Foundation and Winters Center for Autism. Football, food, pumpkin beer, and other specials will run until 7 p.m. at 430 North Country Road.   3. Hooks & Chops in Commack has announced its permanent closure early this month. The news was unexpected to customers who did not hear rumors of closure. Owner Steven Del Lima asks all who purchased gift cards to send a photo of the receipt to chefstevedellima@gmail.com for refunds. (Daily Voice)
  4. George Swanton, 62, of Oakdale, was arrested for bank robbery on Monday. Swanton was the one who entered the Teachers Federal Credit Union dressed as a woman on Saturday and demanded cash from a teller. He's been charged with third-degree robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. (Patch)

  • Greater Rockville Centre: "Huge news for Long Island rock band fans. Blink-182 announced it has reunited with founding member Tom DeLonge and is going on a world tour together. And even better news: there will be three New York shows, including a stop on Long Island at the new UBS Arena on May 20." (Greater Long Island)
  • American Legion is hosting a Comedy Show and Fundraiser at its Smithtown post at 51 Juniper Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 22. Tickets are $30 per person. Comedians were invited by Laugh out Loud Productions. This event is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. (Town Of Smithtown)
