Here are the top five stories today in Smithtown:

1. Smithtown officials have presented a tentative budget for 2023. The proposal is at $126.1 million, which will be invested in park improvement and increasing town leaders' salaries. According to official statements, the increase is due to the high gas and other service costs. (Smithtown Matters)
2. A special celebration was held for the senior citizens of the Town of Smithtown Senior Center for their birthdays. Some residents range from 90 years to 102! A lunch was hosted in their honor with their family and friends. Smithtown residents who are 60 and older are welcome to join the center without any fee. 3. Are you a dog owner? Two Smithtown Parks made it to the list of must-go dog-friendly outings in the area. Veterans Memorial Highway and Arthur Kunz County Park are considered good spots to let our four-legged friends run and play free. (TBR News Media)
