- Smithtown officials have presented a tentative budget for 2023. The proposal is at $126.1 million, which will be invested in park improvement and increasing town leaders' salaries. According to official statements, the increase is due to the high gas and other service costs. (Smithtown Matters)
- A special celebration was held for the senior citizens of the Town of Smithtown Senior Center for their birthdays. Some residents range from 90 years to 102! A lunch was hosted in their honor with their family and friends. Smithtown residents who are 60 and older are welcome to join the center without any fee. - Are you a dog owner? Two Smithtown Parks made it to the list of must-go dog-friendly outings in the area. Veterans Memorial Highway and Arthur Kunz County Park are considered good spots to let our four-legged friends run and play free. (TBR News Media)
- A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in St. James for the grand opening of a new park on Lake Avenue. Supervisor Ed Wehrheim thanked all who were involved in building the new space that marks the growth of the town of St. James. (Smithtown Patch)
