  1. For those who like to support the wildlife at the Smithtown Sweetbriar, mark the excellent "Rock n Raptors" fundraiser concert on your calendar. The event kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. featuring live music and a 70s rock and roll parade! Purchase tickets at www.sweetbriarnc.org. (Patch Events)
  2. Police have released photos of the man who robbed the TD Bank, located at 1941 Jericho Turnpike, in February of this year. After demanding money, the suspect fled in a black Nissan. Identification can be challenging because the man was wearing a face mask but, police are asking for the public's help. If you have any information about the incident, please call 1-800-220-TIPS.   3. Del Fuego in St. James is celebrating fall for a good cause. The Fall Festival will benefit the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and Winters Center for Autism on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 7 p.m. The event offers family fun, football, pumpkin beer and a pumpkin patch. (Smithtown Matters)
  4. The Suffolk Civil Services Exam scheduled for Saturday has been canceled due to the government website's cyberattack. Candidates will be notified of the new date as the county is working to secure the system. (Smithtown Patch)
  5. Congratulation to Smithtown seniors Sasha Blank and Dylan Nicastro for their nomination as semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. To qualify for the program, candidates must take an SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. (Smithtown Patch)
