Weekend Guide: Fairs, Fundraisers and Festivals

Check out what events are taking place in your town this weekend.

The Friends of the Caleb Smith Preserve and the Smithtown Historical Society are hosting a canoe trip. Registration starts Saturday morning at 9:30, with a 10:30 launch followed by a barbecue and entertainment at noon. Cost is $125 per canoe.

From 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, 20 families will be participating in a yard sale on Cook Street in Kings Park, with proceeds to benefit ALS.org. There will also be a bake sale and a Chinese raffle.

For $10 per family, everyone is welcome to attend the Sweetbriar Nature Center's Nature and Craft Fair. Vendors, bird walks, live animal demonstrations, a butterfly house, and more are available. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This fundraiser for Stony Brook Children's Hospital celebrates Long Island-grown strawberries, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Harbor Country Day School. Vendors, music, games and more. Cost of admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids above the age of five.

Smithtown's 24th Annual Festival Day takes place on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street. Local businesses, music, shopping, food and fun. What's your favorite part of the festival?
