Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Suffolk Friday Night: Police
No charges were filed in the crash, police say.
SAINT JAMES, NY — A woman died after being struck while crossing the road Friday night in Saint James, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at about 6:45 p.m. Anna Lopresti, 63, of Saint James, was crossing southbound on Middle Country Road, near White Avenue, when she was struck by an eastbound 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by a 57-year-old Centereach woman, police said.
Lopresti was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The driver was not injured; no charges were filed in the crash, police said.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
