🌱 Southampton's Plan To Be Carbon Neutral + Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel is opening a store in Riverhead, the first near the Hamptons. And the Town of Southampton has hired a firm to consult on plans to become carbon neutral by 2040.

1. RiverheadLOCAL reports that three Bay Shore women have been charged with petit larceny for removing merchandise from the Polo Ralph Lauren store at Tanger Outlets on Sunday afternoon. One of the women is also facing a weapons charge. (RiverheadLOCAL)
2. Southampton Town awarded a contract to a Danish consulting and engineering firm to create a plan for the town to become carbon neutral by 2040. Southampton's goal is also to provide electricity needs from renewable sources by 2025. (Subscription: Newsday)
3. Dan's Papers tells us that Crate & Barrel is planning to open a store at the Tanger Outlets Riverhead in the spring of 2022. The other LI location is in Manhasset. (Hedges)
