Elderly Man Hit By Car On Upper West Side: Police

An 89-year-old was brought to the hospital after he was struck by a car Tuesday morning, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An elderly man was injured after the driver of a car plowed into him on the Upper West Side Tuesday morning.

The 89-year-old man walked near Broadway and West 80th Street about 10:20 a.m. when a car struck him, police said.

First responders rushed the injured man to Mount Sinai West to treat complaints of pain in his left shoulder, officials said.

Officials did not immediately have the vehicle's make available or any details about the driver available as of Tuesday morning, but an NYPD spokesperson confirmed that the driver remained at the scene.

No criminality is suspected at this time and an investigation remains ongoing, police said.
