Chick-Fil-A Looks Set To Open Just North Of Inwood: What To Know

Months after Chick-fil-A opened its first location in Washington Heights, it appears set for another location at West 225th Street.

INWOOD, NY — Months after Chick-fil-A opened its first location in Washington Heights, a new fast-food chicken outpost looks set to open just a few minutes north of Inwood.

A commercial work in progress sign has gone up at 5332 9th Ave., near West 225th Street, which is just steps over the Broadway Bridge connecting Inwood to Marble Hill.

The sign reads that the owner of the commercial work is Chick-fil-A Inc., and has an anticipated completion date of Sept. 2, 2022.

Chick-fil-A did not immediately respond to Patch's request for confirmation.

In the same manner as the opening news of the chain's recent location at 601 W. 181st St., debate swirled over the weekend in an Upper Manhattan's Facebook group over Chick-fil-A's place in the neighborhood.

"They opened one on 181," one person wrote about the apparent new 225th street location. "Lines out the door. Why?! Evil."

Again, the viewpoints of LGBTQ activism, small-business growth, and the tastiness of fast-food chicken all swirled during the discussion.

Patch will update this story, when the new location is confirmed by Chick-fil-A.

For those who haven't spent much time in Marble Hill, it is the north most neighborhood in Manhattan and one of the few areas of the borough not actually on the island of Manhattan.

A quick look on the map might trick you into thinking it's part of The Bronx. It is not.
