DII Bargain Store To Open Inwood Location Next Month

INWOOD, NY - Inwood-dwellers trying to make a dollar stretch, you’re in luck.

Bargain store chain DII is opening up a location in Inwood, set to offer exclusive discounts on apparel, toys, groceries, kitchenware, home decor and more.

The new location will open at 4950 Broadway (between West 207th and Isham streets) about Nov. 3 with deals on select items, store owner Morris Dweck told Patch, adding that the grand opening will be the perfect time to get even more savings on thousands of holiday items.

The new store will be at the former site of the Apple Bank, which has since moved to 592 West 207th St.

Other offerings include menswear and ladieswear — mostly for the “mature” demographic over 30, Dweck said — plus discounted food, beauty and health items from brands ranging from Dove to Coffee Mate to Colgate.

Deals on the store's website include Cascade dishwasher pods for $3.49, Dove spray deodorant for $2.99, SoftSoap body wash for $2.99 and Disney/Marvel toys for $7.99.

Other notable brands you’ll find at DII include Welch’s, San Pellegrino, Black & Decker, Pirouline and PopCorners.

“The foods are special deals,” Dweck said. “Everything is always cheaper than what you would find in a supermarket, always. The same goes with our health and beauty [products].”

Dweck attributes the exclusive deals to the “great relationships” with brands that DII has built over the years.

“They come to us when they have opportunities,” he said.

The pending bargain store opening comes as prices on many consumer items, including groceries, are about 3.7 percent higher than they were at the same time last year, according to the September inflation report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Inwood location is DII’s 19th location across New York and New Jersey. The store is currently accepting applications for associates and management.

The closest store currently open is in Washington Heights at 4086 Broadway.

Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
