WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — In recent times, new business openings in Washington Heights, along with the rest of the city, are dominated by banks, smoke shops, and restaurants, but a different type of business just opened its doors in the neighborhood — a driving school.

The Exus Driving School opened at the beginning of April at 1386 St. Nicholas Ave., between West 179th and 180th streets.

"We just wanted to be part of the community and provide a different type of service in the neighborhood," an employee told Patch over the phone on why they chose to open in Washington Heights. "We didn't see a driving school nearby, and since we've had experience, we though this would be a good opportunity."
