Fire In Washington Heights Injures 4: FDNY

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the FDNY said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire broke out in an apartment building on Wadsworth Avenue just after midnight on Monday, injuring four people, New York City Fire Department officials said.

According to the FDNY, the fire started at 247 Wadsworth Ave., a six-story apartment building, between West 186th Street and West 185th Street at 12:40 a.m. on Monday.

The fire was located on the third floor of the building, and 60 firefighters and medics responded to the scene, authorities said.

The FDNY got the fire under control by 1:37 a.m. Monday and four residents were injured, officials said.

Two of the injured residents were transported to local hospitals, and the other two refused medical attention at the scene, the FDNY said.
