Halal Restaurant Coming To Broadway In Inwood
Shah's Halal Food, a chain of sit-down spots and food carts in Long Island, Connecticut and beyond is set to land in Inwood.
INWOOD, NY - A halal food chain with dozens of locations across New York, Connecticut and the mid-Atlantic is expanding its brick-and-mortar locations to New York City with an Inwood outpost.
Shah’s Halal Food inked a lease at 4931 Broadway, commercial real estate firm Zelnik & Co. said Monday.
Founded in 2005 as a Queens food cart, Shah’s offers halal classics like falafel, chicken over rice, lamb over rice, as well as french fries, chicken gyros, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, hot wings and build-your-own-salad platters. You can view a full menu here.

All Shah’s locations are certified halal by the Halal Food Council USA, according to its website.
An opening date for the Inwood location has not yet been announced. Can’t wait to have a taste? Head down to Queens’ Briarwood, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill or Queens College to try from one of Shah’s food carts.

Shah’s will be the fourth tenant in a decade to move into the space. Since 2013, the site at 4931 Broadway has served as the former home to Indian restaurant Masala House, eatery Kennedy and a Papa John’s.
