The story of Patacon Pisao, which was founded in 2005, was told in a New York Times article in 2015.
Liliana Velazquez first opened the truck in a spot near Inwood nightclubs such as Opus Lounge and Luxor, knowing that people out late at night in the Dominican community shared her fondness for plantains, reported the New York Times.
