Major 5K Run In Wash Heights This Weekend: Closures To Know About
The NYRR Washington Heights Salsa, Blues and Shamrock 5K Run is kicking off on Sunday from near West 173rd Street and Fort Washington.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A major New York Road Runners race is coming to Washington Heights this weekend, and there will be street closures that come along with it.
The NYRR Washington Heights Salsa, Blues and Shamrocks 5K will kick off Sunday at 9 a.m. from Fort Washington Avenue between West 172nd and 173rd streets, before going through Fort Tryon Park, and then looping its way back to the starting line.
The 5K race will pass under the George Washington Bridge and circle the Met Cloisters.

Earlier this week, Upper Manhattan's 34th Precinct put out a traffic advisory with street closure information related to the race.
- Fort Washington Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to noon from West 168th Street to Margaret Corbin Circle in Fort Tryon Park.
- There will be no eastbound or westbound traffic Sunday leading to Fort Washington Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon.
"In order to minimize disruption, we ask that you please plan your parking and travel accordingly," the 34th Precinct wrote.

Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the race to the top-three finishers in the overall men, woman, and non-binary divisions.
