Pair Of Inwood Eateries Receives $10K Grants From Uber And Visa
An Inwood Thai spot and a bar were just announced as recipients for grants meant to help businesses hit the hardest by COVID.

INWOOD, NY — A pair of Inwood restaurants received relief in the form of a grant from Uber and Visa meant to help businesses that got hit the hardest by the COVID pandemic.
Announced on Thursday, Yummy Thai and Inwood Bar and Grill both received $10,000 in the form of a grant.
“From labor challenges to supply chain issues, independently-owned businesses have had another trying year, and it's important to us that Uber Eats support our merchant partners with the resources and tools they need to continue to grow.” said Sarfraz Maredia, VP of US and Canada Delivery at Uber, in a news release.

The grants can be used for payroll, paying outstanding debts to vendors, technology upgrades, and other immediate operational costs.
Yummy Thai is located at 4959 Broadway Ave. and serves up spring rolls, dumplings, chicken satay, and more.

"Yummy Thai knows how to keep its hungry and loyal customers satisfied," reads a message on the restaurant's website. It is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Inwood Bar and Grill is located at 4892 Broadway and is open every day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
It serves up classic bar food and has more than 50 televisions within the restaurant.
Recipients of the grants were selected by the community development organization LISC. Of those businesses selected, 92 percent were entrepreneurs of color, 69 percent were woman-owned businesses, and 88 percent of the businesses were in low or moderate-income areas.
