Robert Jackson Easily Wins Wash Heights, Inwood Democratic Primary
Incumbent Robert Jackson will be the Democratic nominee for Upper Manhattan State Senate district after defeating challenger Angel Vasquez.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — Incumbent Robert Jackson was declared the Democratic primary winner early Wednesday morning by NY1 of Washington Height's and Inwood's 31st State Senate District.
Jackson fended off three challengers, including the well backed Angel Vasquez.

- Robert Jackson: 58 percent (9,868 votes) - Declared Winner
- Angel Vasquez: 33 percent (5,594 votes)
- Francesca Castellanos: 4.9 percent (838 votes)
- Ruben Vargas: 4 percent (675 votes)
Jackson has held the seat since 2018, and will almost certainly continue representing the district that covers a large chunk of Washington Heights and the entirety of Inwood after the November General Election
Jackson was able to handily defeat Vasquez, despite the first-time candidate receiving backing from uptown elected officials, including Rep. Adriano Espaillat, Council Members Carmen De La Rosa and Shaun Abreu, and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine.

Jackson kept it short and sweet on Twitter, writing out — "Thank you!!!! We won together," early Wednesday morning.
