You Can Get Extra Money For Working At A Wash Heights Small Business

If you work at a small business in Washington Heights, you can apply for a grant from the Washington Heights Business Improvement District.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — If you work at a Washington Heights small business, you can apply for a chance to earn more money than just your paycheck.

The Washington Heights Business Improvement District announced a partnership recently with Diageo Americas Inc. to offer financial support in the form of a grant for people that work at a small business in the neighborhood.

The application is not available for people who work at restaurants or national chains and retailers in Washington Heights.

The financial relief is specifically geared to uptown employees who "have suffered hardship as a direct or indirect result of the COVID-19 pandemic."

To qualify, you must submit your application before 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Here is the full list of requirements needed to apply.

  1. Proof of identity: Driver’s license, passport, etc.
  2. Proof of work at a small business in Washington Heights*Excluding restaurant businesses along with national chains and retailers (Example: Target, Marshalls, Foot Locker etc.).
  3. Applicants must provide adequate documentation, 2020 & 2021 1040 Federal Returns.
  4. First come first served, based on qualification.
  5. Fill out the application.
