'A Night of Comedy' for Somers; Appointment of Yorktown Comptroller

1. Town Board Meeting

The Yorktown town board meeting is tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Yorktown Town Hall. Patricia Caporale is expected to be appointed to the position of town comptroller.

Five young actors from the Yorktown, Somers area, including Ryan Piken, 10, of Baldwin Place; Bridget Maloney, 15, of Somers; Olivia Battinelli, 15, of Yorktown Heights; Gabriella Landicino, 15, of Yorktown Heights; and Gabrielle Sansone, 13, of Mohegan Lake, will appear in The Random Farms Kids' Theater "Legally Blonde" production at The Tarrytown Music Hall, Jan. 26 through Feb. 3. 3. 'A Night of Comedy'

'A Night of Comedy' will benefit the Somers Tuskers Booster Club on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Sinapi's Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley. The cost is $75 per person. 4. Pasta Cooking Competition

Amateur and professional cooks are invited to participate in a pasta recipe contest being conducted by Anna Maria Santorelli, chef/owner of Anna Maria's Restaurant in Larchmont. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 31, 2013. Click here for more details.

5. Hart Library Sunday Concert Series Schedule

The John. C. Hart Memorial Library Sunday concert series have been scheduled. They are the following:

February 3, 2013
Stacy Phillips and Paul Howard on guitars and other instruments present a show of Americana, world music and originals. Expect klezmer, Caribbean, Hawaiian, jazz, country roots etc. This is an informative and always engaging mix of instrumentals and vocals.

March 3, 2013
Mary Mancini and Mario Tacca pay the Hart Library another visit to share their beautiful and electrifying talent with us. This time they will focus on Italian Love Songs and Arias. Free tickets for this event will be available at the library, and seating is limited.

April 7, 2013
Ellen Woloshin and her trio. This singer-songwriter has wide-ranging composing and performing experience, having worked with Dionne Warwick, Ben Vereen and many others. Her unique outlook, beautiful voice and adult contemporary folk/pop style promise a highly enjoyable program.

May 5, 2013
The Westchester Chordsmen Barbershop Quartet. An entertaining program by one of the premier barbershop quartet ensembles. There are sure to be rousing renditions, demos of the barbershop style, a joke or two, and perhaps a sing-along.

June 2, 2013
Anne Tormela of the Manhattan Lyric Opera will tell the stories of a few favorite operas through commentary and performance of arias and other highlights from these works. Prepare to enjoy a well-crafted and beautifully performed event.
