Light Snow Expected Tuesday; 'Deck the House' Patch Contest; Somers Craft Fair

Here are five things you need to know today, Nov. 27.

1. Light Snow Expected Today

It won't be another nor'easter, but a small amount of snow is likely in the Yoktown-Somers area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. During the day, the chance of snow increases to 80 percent. The snow may continue into the evening and night, followed by a slightly warmer and sunnier rest of the work week.

The presentation has been cancelled due to the snow and rescheduled to April 16, 2013 at 7 p.m. 

SEPTA members will meet tonight at Yorktown High School's library at 7 p.m. Developmental pediatrician Dr. Stephen Cowan will discuss his new book, Fire Child Water Child: How Understanding the Five Types of ADHD Can Help You Improve Your Child’s Self-Esteem and Attention. He will offer activities parents and teachers can use to help each child develop calm focus by transforming his or her innate abilities. Nutrition, medication and supplements will also be discussed. 3. 'Deck the House' and Enter Patch's Contest

5. 'Holiday Happiness' Craft Fair in Somers

Mark your calendar and start your holiday shopping this Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. with a Craft Fair at Primrose Elementary School in Somers. There will be more than 100 vendors, lots of activities for the kids, bakes sale, tag sale, silent auction and raffles. Parking and admission are free.
