Public Meetings Scheduled In Yorktown, Somers: UPDATE

YORKTOWN-SOMERS, NY — Here’s a look ahead at public meetings scheduled for the week of Jan. 9 for Yorktown and Somers.

In Yorktown, there will be a Planning Board televised meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

The agenda, which can be seen here, includes an informational hearing on a proposed Dunkin restaurant with drive-thru at 3735 Crompond Rd.; a pre-preliminary discussion on a proposal to remove an existing single-family house with five two-story, three-bedroom townhouses and 15 parking spaces at 670 East Main St. in Jefferson Valley; a discussion on proposed 20 apartments with associated parking pursuant to a 1990 rezone of 1.56 acres to the R-3 zone; a discussion on the construction of an 18-room boutique hotel in place of an existing building at 1952 Commerce St. and a Zoning Board referral on Taco Bell Mohegan Lake Signage at 3571 Mohegan Ave.

The meeting will be in the Town Hall Board Room and on Optimum channel 20 and FiOS channel 33.

There is a Yorktown Town Board Work Session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10. The televised meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

The agenda includes an executive session at 6:30 p.m. concerning police department personnel and litigation and negotiations with the town attorney. The televised portion of the meeting at 7:30 p.m. includes accepting the resignation of Matt Slater from the position of town supervisor and the appointment of Thomas Diana to the position of supervisor, a presentation from Competitive Carting, authorizing the signing of an agreement with the SPCA regarding the feral cats programs; the appointment of a marriage officer and the designation of 2023 meeting dates for the Town Board.

Yorktown Town Hall is at 363 Underhill Ave. in Yorktown Heights.

In Somers, there will be a Planning Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The agenda, which can be viewed here, includes an extension request for Granite Pointe Final Subdivision Approval and reviews of a proposed two-lot subdivision at 19 Olive Dr. and a proposed subdivision of a parcel adjacent to Green Tree Road.

The meeting will be held at the Town House, 335 Route 202.

The Somers Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 in the Town House, 335 Route 202.
