Yorktown To Hold Public Hearing For Chipotle Mexican Grill
The fast casual restaurant would be located in the shopping center where Lowe's Home Improvement and Trader Joe's are open.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — There might soon be another reason — and a tasty one — to head to the shopping center where Lowe’s Home Improvement is the anchor store in the town of Yorktown.
The Yorktown Planning Board is mulling a site plan application for a new Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant that would fill the final undeveloped site at the location.
Robyn Steinberg, the town planner, confirmed to Patch that the Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the Chipotle application at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23.

The meeting is open to the public and can be viewed on Optimum Channel 20 or FiOS Channel 33.
Chipotle, if the restaurant is approved to begin construction, will join Starbucks, AAA, Slice Pizza and Trader Joe’s — as well as Lowe’s — at the site on Crompond Road, or Route 202, just off the Taconic State Parkway.

Developers said, in the initial application, the structure would be about 2,300 square feet with 26 parking spaces and six shared parking spaces for a total of 32 parking spots.
The restaurant would have a drive-thru for picking up orders placed via Chipotle’s mobile app. No drive-thru ordering is being proposed for the restaurant.
There will also be indoor seating and patio seating if the site plan is approved as proposed.
More information about Chipotle's application can be viewed here in the Planning Board's meeting packet for its Dec. 12 session.
The area where Chipotle is wanting to build is also close to other popular retail stores and eateries. They include BJ's Wholesale Warehouse, Staples, McDonald's, Dunkin' and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Yorktown Planning Board’s work sessions (fourth Monday of the month) are held in the Albert A. Capellini Community and Cultural Center, Room No. 104, 1974 Commerce St. in Yorktown Heights.
