2 Camp Lejeune Marines Dead, 17 Hurt In Military Vehicle Rollover
Two Marines died and 17 were injured when a massive military vehicle rolled over in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

CAMP LEJEUNE, NC — Two Marines died and 17 were hurt in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in a military vehicle rollover, according to officials at Camp Lejeune.
"While making a right turn, the vehicle, it was a 7-ton military vehicle, lost control and overturned, ejecting the Marines that were in the back of the truck out into the roadway," North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Devin Rich said in a news conference, per USA Today. He added that speed was a factor in the crash.
The unique vehicle involved is called an MTVR and used to transport troops and equipment in the military.

The driver, Louis Barrera, 19, was charged with a count of exceeding a safe speed and two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, according to local news affiliate WRAL.
The two men killed were part of the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, based in Camp Lejeune, and their names will be released later Thursday.
