Child found not breathing in east Charlotte, police report: What we know (wbtv.com) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a child was found not breathing in east Charlotte Tuesday morning and later pronounced dead at the hospital. First responders were called to Gwynne Hill Road near Albemarle and Harrisburg roads, and homicide detectives are now handling the case while authorities withhold the juvenile’s identity and exact age.

Neighbors push back on northwest Charlotte townhome community (wsoctv.com) — Neighbors in northwest Charlotte are pushing back against a plan for nearly 100 townhomes on Cook’s Presbyterian Church property, citing already miserable traffic on Mount Holly Huntersville Road. Charlotte City Council members echoed concerns about safety and overcrowding, holding a public hearing where 47 people spoke in opposition; a final vote is expected in the coming weeks.
