4 School Supply Giveaway Events Planned This Week In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — The countdown is on for the beginning of another school year, and community partners are rallying to provide area students with supplies.

Four back-to-school supply giveaway events are set this week throughout Charlotte.

The events are a partnership between the City of Charlotte, Northside Church, Charlotte Fire Department, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, Atrium Health and The Prodigal Son Foundation.

Sports physicals, vaccinations and immunizations will also be available at the events, say organizers.

The events will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:

• Tuesday, Aug. 10 — Eastway Middle School, 1501 Norland Road, Charlotte
• Wednesday, Aug. 11 — Walter G. Byers, 1415 Hamilton Street, Charlotte
• Thursday, Aug. 12 — Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Boulevard, Charlotte
• Friday, Aug. 13 — E.E.Waddell Language Academy, 7030 Nations Ford Road, Charlotte
