CHARLOTTE, NC — Giving Tuesday is the perfect way to end four days of shopping, giving people an opportunity to benefit a nonprofit and give back to the community.

Giving Tuesday began back in 2012 and it's all about celebrating and supporting philanthropy, involving any cause that pulls your heartstrings. From education to children with cancer, domestic violence victims to those experiencing homelessness, Giving Tuesday has become a holiday that helps nonprofits thrive.

Share Charlotte is a collaborative effort to highlight nonprofits in the greater Charlotte area including Lake Norman. Categorized by type of nonprofit, it's easy to use and select the nonprofit you want to celebrate Giving Tuesday by digging in your wallet to support.

1. Beds for Kids: Beds for Kids mission is to provide beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need.
