9 Things To Know About Charlotte's Thanksgiving Eve Parade

The annual parade is back in full force after it was only televised last year.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The 75th annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Parade is actually a twilight, Thanksgiving Eve affair this year, taking place downtown Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

Here's what you need to know.

Where: Tryon Street beginning at 9th Street and ending at Morehead Street.

When: The parade starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday night and ends at 8 p.m.

Tickets: Tickets are $25 to guarantee curbside viewing. Kids under two are free. Get tickets here.

Parking: There is ample parking, but plan early. The city has this handy dandy map to help, and remember pricing varies.

Arrival: Get there two hours early to find a prime spot to see the parade, or if you require ample room for a wheelchair or stroller.

Food: There will be food vendors along the parade route, and expect hot chocolate too.

TV: The parade airs on WBTV at 6 p.m. Wednesday night and again on Thanksgiving at 2 p.m.

Pets: Organizers ask you not to bring pets to the parade.

COVID 19: Bring a mask for reserved seating. Masks are encouraged otherwise, as well as social distancing.

  • Wear a mask at all times, regardless of vaccination status, while in the reserved seating area
  • Provide proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or proof of negative Covid-19 test results within 72 hours of the event (If you need assistance locating a testing site, tests can be scheduled through your MyChart if you are a Novant Health patient, or you can schedule through the Go Health Urgent Care site at www.gohealthuc.com)
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill or exhibit symptoms of Covid-19
  • Comply with all directions from Parade staff and volunteers
