Arrest Made In Christmas Day Homicide On Beatties Ford Road
After a month of searching, police found the suspect in a Christmas day a homicide several states away. Multiple agencies worked together.
CHARLOTTE, NC — The suspect in a Christmas Day homicide has been captured in Georgia, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg police.
The homicide happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Christmas when police responded to a scene on Beatties Ford Road and found two men shot. Frederick Antonio Edwards, 28, was pronounced dead.
At that time, police said they were looking for Bruce Japel Adams in connection with Edwards' death.

On January 27, CMPD with the help of the FBI and U. S. Secret Service, located and captured Adams in Snellville, Georgia.
CMPD Homicide detectives traveled to Atlanta to interview Adams. Adams is currently in the Gwinnett County Jail awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
