Boy Killed In Northwest Charlotte Shooting: CMPD
The boy, who was found wounded after a shooting in a Charlotte neighborhood, was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police have launched a homicide investigation after a juvenile boy was killed in a shooting in a northwest Charlotte neighborhood Sunday evening, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
The Dec. 13 incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 7100 block of Red Bud Circle, CMPD said.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found the boy with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken by Medic to Atrium Health Main hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, CMPD said.
CMPD has not released the victim's identity.

"The investigation into this case is active and ongoing," CMPD said in a statement.
