Charlotte Man Buys $5 Lottery Ticket At Harris Teeter, Wins Big
He won six figures after playing Fast Play.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte man made his regular trip to the Harris Teeter on Carmel Road and picked up a $5 Fast Play Ticket to take a chance on the lottery... and he won.
Charles Collier III turned that $5 bet into a $126,722 prize in the Nov. 26 drawing. With taxes and fees, he got to take home roughly $89,000 of that according to state lottery officials.
The North Carolina Education Lottery raises more than $900 million a year for education from ticket sales like Fast Play and .95 of every dollar spent on the lottery goes right back to education purposes, according to them.
