Charlotte Mecklenburg Students Get Their Snow Makeup Day Back
Feb. 21 was originally scheduled as a make-up day after the mid-January snow event, but it will now just be a teacher work day.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools were able to enjoy a snow day back on Tuesday January 18 after a winter storm ravaged the Carolinas.
That meant under school policy, that snow day was set to be made up February 21, formerly a teacher work day and a day where students were off.
Monday night, CMS announced they would not be making students go to school February 21 after all, and will keep it a teacher work day.

The district said the decision came after a large number of staff committed to professional development on that date, and because it gives them more flexibility if more severe weather happens in the spring term.
There are three "emergency days" remaining for the calendar year in CMS.
