Charlotte Shredding Event: How To Get Rid Of Old Documents

Get rid of those stacks of old personal documents at the shredding event this weekend in Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC — County residents in need of purging old personal documents will have an opportunity to do just that this weekend.

Mecklenburg County is hosting a free document shred event Saturday, March 20 beginning at 9 a.m. at Compost Central, located at 140 Valleydale Road in Charlotte.

If you miss the March 20 event, another similar event is planned next month.

A free document shredding event is set for Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Veterans Park, located at 201 Huntersville-Concord Road in Huntersville. The event will adhere to coronavirus safety protocols, including social distancing, along with the use of masks and hand sanitizer. Participants will be allowed to drop off up to three boxes of personal and confidential records for shredding at the Shred-It truck, organizers said.
