City Of Charlotte's QC Fest Set For Aug. 14: Live Music, Games

CHARLOTTE, NC — An upcoming community festival in northwest Charlotte featuring live music, games, food will kick off a new violence interruption program, city officials said Friday.

The QC Fest will be held at Northwest School of the Arts, located at 1415 Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte on Saturday, Aug. 14 from noon until 6 p.m.

Say organizers:
"QC Fest is a community festival launching the new community safety and violence interruption program, Alternatives to Violence. Residents will be able to meet members of the Alternatives to Violence team and hear about program goals. The festival is free and open to the public and will include activities for all ages: performances, food, games, community resources and local vendors."

The Alternatives to Violence program aims to combat community violence in the Beatties Ford Road and LaSalle Street neighborhoods through intervention.

The festival will include performances from Day 26 and J. Holiday.

Limited parking will be available on Celia Avenue. Shuttle bus service will be provided from the Food Lion parking lot, located at 2123 Beatties Ford Road.
