Here are the top three stories today in Charlotte:

  1. Charlotte officials are discussing the need to put to vote a 1-cent sales tax increase to fund the city's proposed transportation plan. The $13.5 billion plan currently focuses on improving transportation in the city by adding bike lanes, buses, and light rail. (WCNC)
  2. A local mental health advocate is trying to get suicide prevention signs into parking lots statewide. Advocate Fonda Bryant has been working since 2019 to get the suicide prevention signs into Charlotte parking garages, and now she's pushing for state lawmakers to pass a bill to make the signs a requirement in all state parking garages.   3. Wells Fargo announced that it will be moving its employees out of two Uptown Charlotte buildings and into two other Uptown locations. The plan is for employees to move from One Wells Fargo Center and Two Wells Fargo Center into Three Wells Fargo Center and the South Tryon Street office by the end of the year. (WCNC.com)
