Climb Towards Healthier Habits with National Take the Stairs Day
American Lung Association encourages North Carolina residents to take the stairs and register for the Fight For Air Climb

Today, Wednesday, January 11 is National Take the Stairs Day, and the American Lung Association in North Carolina is challenging people in Charlotte to take the first steps towards healthier habits in 2023 by taking the stairs, and then support lung health by registering for the Fight For Air Climb at Truist Field, Home of the Charlotte Knights.
National Take the Stairs Day is an annual observance on the second Wednesday of January that gives Americans an opportunity to adopt healthy routines like taking the stairs. Stair climbing is a great way to burn calories but is also a simple way to improve your overall health.
“Many people make resolutions to adopt healthier habits in the New Year, so National Take the Stairs Day is a fantastic way to kick off those goals as well as exercise your lungs! We would also like to invite Charlotte area residents to take it a step further and join us for our Fight For air Climb at Truist Field, Home of the Charlotte Knights on March 25,” said Jed Manfull, Chair of the event.

This is the 10th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb in Charlotte, the premier stair-climbing event in North Carolina. Participants will climb 800 stadium steps at the iconic Truist Field, Home of the Charlotte Knights.
“Defeating lung disease must be a community effort,” said Derek Murzyn, Market CEO, Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital. “It is humbling to see local businesses, community partners and residents of the greater Charlotte area come together to support the Lung Association’s mission of ending lung disease, fund educational programs to assist people with lung disease and advocating for clean air for all. We are honored to be a sponsor this year of the Fight for Air Climb and look forward to a successful event.”
