CMPD To Share Fallen Officer's Funeral On Social Media

Officer Mia Goodwin's funeral will be shared with the public via Facebook on Wednesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will broadcast fallen officer Mia Goodwin's funeral on their Facebook, according to the department.

The family has asked that no cameras besides that one are allowed inside the service for the officer who leaves behind three children and a firefighter husband.

A procession for Officer Mia Goodwin will begin at 9:00 a.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home, 1424 Statesville Avenue Charlotte, NC 28206, to First Baptist Church of Charlotte, 301 South Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Visitation begins at First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. and lasts until noon, with the service immediately to follow.

  • 07:30 – staging of police vehicles begins on Statesville Avenue - Traffic control will be in place to stage police vehicles
  • 08:45 – route closure
  • 09:00 – depart from funeral home
  • 09:20 – procession lead arrives at First Baptist Church
  • 10:00 – visitation begins
