CMS Holding Emergency Meeting To Discuss $2,500 Employee Bonuses

CHARLOTTE, NC — The CMS Board will meet Wednesday night at 6 p.m. to discuss retention raises for employees. The meeting will be held virtually and streamed on the CMS Facebook page.

The $2,500 retention bonus would be a one-time bonus to full-time CMS staff members.

According to the Charlotte Observer which cited sources close to the school board, bonuses would be distributed in two parts, one coming right before Christmas on Dec. 22. The Observer also states part-time employees would receive a bonus of $1,250, with all bonuses totaling $48 million.

Officials would use American Rescue finding to pay for the bonuses if approved.
