CMS Schools Make Schedule Change For March 18
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools have changed the learning format for March 18 because of severe weather threats.
CHARLOTTE, NC — All Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District students will engage in virtual learning Thursday as the looming threat of severe weather and high winds continues, the district announced Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Wednesday night for North Carolina due to severe weather in the region that could include hail, gusty winds and tornadoes.
"Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur today," NWS said Thursday morning. "A few storms may become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and an isolated tornado. The greatest threat for severe will be along and southeast of interstate 85."

Due to weather forecasts predicting risk of severe weather throughout the region, CMS will shift all students to remote learning on Thursday, March 18.
