🌱 Developer Suing City + Mental Health Facility May Come To Charlotte

"The contractor behind the Hawthorne Lane Bridge and CityLYNX Gold Line Phase 2 project is suing the city of Charlotte for $115 million, according to a lawsuit recently filed in Mecklenburg County Superior Court. Johnson Brothers Corporation's complaint accuses the city of breach of contract, misrepresentation and unjust enrichment, among other things," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  2. "As Congress works to update funding and priorities for the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Senator Ted Budd visited Charlotte's two major airports Monday. Budd, a Republican member of Congress representing North Carolina, meet with Charlotte Douglas International Airport officials during a tour of the city-owned airport Monday morning. He also met with leadership from American Airlines, which uses the airport as one of its major hubs," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  3. "According to a listing on LoopNet, Bar-B-Q King’s location at 2900 Wilkinson Blvd. is posted as “great for new development.” The building is part of four parcels that are up for sale. The west Charlotte eatery first opened in 1959 in west Charlotte and joins the growing line-up of “landmark” restaurants in the city over recent years put on the market," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
  4. "North Carolina health regulators are considering a request from a private health company to build a psychiatric hospital in Charlotte. Pine Grove BH Services LLC applied to build a 120-bed mental health facility that would cost nearly $55.5 million. Developers said the Pinewood Behavioral Health Hospital could open as soon as January 2026," Fox 46 Charlotte reports. (Fox 46 Charlotte)
  5. "The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says a man is facing felony charges after one person died and several others were hurt in a crash in east Charlotte. The crash happened just after 7 p.m. Saturday on Central Avenue between Eastcrest Drive and Briar Creek Road. On Monday, CMPD provided more details about the crash. Investigators say a Nissan Sentra was going at a “high rate of speed” when it crashed into the back of a Hyundai Genesis. That crash caused the Genesis to go off the side of the road and crash into a power pole, and the Nissan hit a curb before spinning around and stopping," WSOC-TV reports. (WSOC-TV)
