FBI, Secret Service Help CMPD Catch Charlotte Murder Suspect

The early December shootout killed one person near Swank Place.

CHARLOTTE, NC — An arrest has been made in the early December shooting death of Devontae Springs, 29 who was found dead inside a car near Swank Place in north Charlotte.

After finding Springs, police went looking for a vehicle that had been seen speeding away from the scene. That car eventually crashed into a pole, and two people were inside. One of them also had gunshot wounds; both were taken to the hospital.

Just under a month later, Bruce Little, 23, has been arrested and charged in Spring's death.

It wasn't easy to catch Little. CMPD says it involved their Violent Criminal Apprehension Team as well as the Secret Service and FBI.

They found him just outside of Atlanta and Charlotte detectives drove down to interview him. Little remains in custody in Fulton County, GA awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County.

He has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Discharging a Firearm into a Occupied Dwelling.
